Tyler, the Creator Previews ‘Chromakopia’ With ‘Thought I Was Dead’

Rapper’s new album arrives Monday, October 28 at 6 a.m. EST: “You can listen to it when you wake up,” he writes
Less than 48 hours before the arrival of Tyler, the Creator’s new album Chromakopia, the rapper has shared another preview with the video for “Thought I Was Dead.”
The visual, once again directed by Tyler, is the third sample from Chromakopia ahead its Oct. 28 release date, following “St. Chroma” and “Noid.”
As Tyler previously revealed on social media, Chromakopia will arrive on both an untraditional day (Monday) and an untraditional time (6 a.m. EST). “You can listen to it when you wake up,” the rapper wrote. “You don’t have to deprive yourself of sleep for something that is going to be there when you wake up.”
Tyler, the Creator also announced that he’ll host an album playback of Chromakopia at Los Angeles’ new Intuit Dome on Sunday, hours before the album comes out. “I will not be performing,” Tyler warned of the $5-per-ticket event. “I will be standing in the middle of the venue lip syncing to the new sounds.”
Fans hoping to see Tyler actually perform can do so on his upcoming Chromakopia World Tour, which kicks off in February 2025 and boasts support from Lil Yachty and Paris Texas.
Chromakopia marks Tyler, the Creator’s first album in three years, following his Grammy-wining 2021 effort, Call Me If You Get Lost. (Last year, he dropped an expanded edition, The Estate Sale, which featured eight additional songs.)
