Sheff G Pleads Guilty to Attempted Murder

The rapper was arrested as part of a 32-person, 140-count gang indictment in May 2023
Rapper Sheff G pled guilty to attempted murder and conspiracy on Wednesday and will be sentenced to five years in prison.
Sheff G, real name Michael Williams, pled guilty today to multiple top counts of second-degree attempted murder and second- and fourth-degree conspiracy in exchange for an offer of five years in prison and five years’ post release supervision, according to a press release from Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez’s office. Williams’ sentencing was set for Aug. 13.
“Notoriety could not shield this defendant from justice. He used his fame to fund and direct violence, terrorizing our streets, and though we sought a much longer sentence, he will now be held to account,” said District Attorney Gonzalez in a statement. “Brooklyn will not tolerate gangs that endanger our communities, and we remain committed to dismantling these criminal networks and holding those responsible fully accountable.”
In May 2023, Williams and Sleepy Hallow, born Tegan Chambers, were arrested as part of a 32-person, 140-count gang indictment alleging murder, attempted murder, gun possession, and other crimes. Gonzalez alleged that the men were members of the 8 Trey Crips and 9 Ways gangs, who waged war on the Folk Nation Gangster Disciples and ICG Babiiez over a period starting in March 2019. The indictment attributed 12 shootings to the gangs, including the fatal October 2020 shooting of Theodore Senior, AKA Sniper Blixky, an alleged member of the Folk Nation Gangster Disciples and ally of Sheff G rival 22GZ.
According to Wednesday’s release, Williams allegedly used the earnings from his music career to “fuel gun violence in Brooklyn, by offering money and giving expensive jewelry to those who committed acts of violence.”
Fourteen cases are still pending against other defendants, including Chambers.
