Katseye Enlist Young Miko for New Take on ‘Gabriela’: Listen

Girl group stunned at Lollapalooza over the weekend as they played songs from EP Beautiful Chaos for the first time
Who better than Young Miko to add an even flirtier, sapphic flair to “Gabriela?” On Friday, Katseye released a new version of their Beautiful Chaos single, featuring a Spanish verse from the Puerto Rican star.
“By law, she’s gonna want me to keep going/Come down to Carolina/So you can try a Latina,” Miko raps in the bridge in Spanish. “Hands off, Gabriela, better put them on me instead.”
Katseye — comprising Lara, Sophia, Manon, Daniela, Yoonchae, and Megan — previewed their recently released EP Beautiful Chaos with the choreography-packed video for “Gabriela,” which starred Jessica Alba. At the time, Daniela, who’s Latina, spoke about the importance of paying homage to her Latina roots with the song (and its telenovela-esque video).
“I feel like the song is about paying homage to telenovelas and Latin culture and for me, it’s honestly such a big opportunity,” Daniela told Rolling Stone at the time. “I feel very honored to be able to sing in my native language and just connect with our Latino fans and that community a little bit more.”
The new version of the fan-favorite comes just days after Katseye made history with a massive crowd on the Lollapalooza mainstage in Chicago over the weekend. “I don’t know if the ‘Oh, we’re coworkers, so we can operate like that,’ would really work for us,” Lara told Rolling Stone about their bond. “I feel like the friendship, the true bond that we have is what makes this truly so fun, even if we have a bad day or something crazy happens.”
