Alan Jackson to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award at 2025 ACMs

The Nineties country music star known for hits like “Chattahoochee” and “Don’t Rock the Jukebox” is the first recipient of the honor, which will then be named after him
Alan Jackson will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 60th ACM Awards. The “Chattahoochee” singer is the inaugural recipient of the honor, which will immediately become known as the ACM Alan Jackson Lifetime Achievement Award.
According to the Academy of Country Music, the award recognizes “an iconic artist, duo, or group that has achieved both national and international prominence and stature through concert performances, philanthropy, record sales, streaming numbers, and public representation. The artist receiving this award has positively impacted and contributed to the genre’s growth over the years, which have proven to have an unprecedented historical impact on fans and industry nationally and internationally.”
Jackson has 21 ACM Awards to his credit, along with more than 75 million records sold worldwide and 35 Number One country singles on the Billboard country chart. The Country Music Hall of Fame member, inducted in 2017, is slated to perform at tonight’s ACM Awards, which stream on Prime Video beginning at 8 p.m./ET. Other performers include host Reba McEntire, Eric Church, Lainey Wilson, and top nominee Ella Langley.
Jackson is in the process of retiring from touring via what he’s calling the “Last Call: One More for the Road” tour. In 2022, he announced that he was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disorder, a degenerative nerve disease that affects balance and movement through the arms and legs. He released his most recent album, Where Have You Gone, in 2021.
Along with his career signature “Chattahoochee,” Jackson has a slew of hits to the country canon, including “Remember When,” “Don’t Rock the Jukebox,” “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere” with Jimmy Buffett, and the 9/11 ballad “Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning).”
