Watch Olivia Rodrigo Perform ‘Drop Dead,’ ‘Begged’

Both are from the singer-songwriter’s upcoming third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love
Olivia Rodrigo made her third musical guest appearance on Saturday Night Live, performing two songs from her forthcoming album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.
Rodrigo, who previously performed on the late night show in 2023 and in 2021, opened with “Drop Dead,” which she wrote with Amy Allen and longtime collaborator Dan Nigro.
The 23-year-old singer-songwriter, who also debuted as SNL host on Saturday, has said You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love will mainly include “sad love songs.”
“I realized all my favorite romantic love songs were beautiful because they had a tinge of fear or yearning in them,” she told British Vogue last month.
“It was a creative challenge to write from a joyful place,” she explained. “When you’re experiencing that you’re connected to someone, or feeling really good, you’re not in your head thinking about bittersweet poems!”
The album, Rodrigo’s third after 2023’s Guts and 2021’s Sour, will be released on June 12. Like its predecessors, Nigro is producing.
For her second song of the night, Rodrigo debuted “Begged.” On supporting vocals was Weyes Blood, the Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter who’s wrapping up a new album herself.
Rodrigo’s 65-date “Unraveled Tour” in support of her upcoming album begins in September in Hartford, Connecticut. The North American leg ends in February in Brooklyn, after which she will head over to Europe, wrapping up in Barcelona in early May.
