Watch Billie Eilish Perform ‘Birds of a Feather,’ ‘Wildflower’
Eilish and brother Finneas make their fourth appearance on the late night show in support of Hit Me Hard and Soft
In her fourth musical guest appearance on Saturday Night Live, Billie Eilish performed a pair of tracks from her acclaimed third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, which came out in May.
Eilish, Rolling Stone‘s cover artist from that month, opened with “Birds of a Feather.” With the name of her latest album written on the bottoms of her shoes, the singer-songwriter was filmed at first through a transparent cube while she stood atop it. Blue sky walls and ceiling matched the lightness of the song, which Eilish sang alongside her brother, producer and co-writer, Finneas, who was on acoustic guitar.
All ten tracks from Hit Me Hard and Soft debuted in the Billboard Hot 100 top 40. The second Eilish performed Saturday, “Wildflower,” offered a decidedly more somber tone, its entirety being played in dark blue light.
Eilish most recently appeared on SNL last December for the show’s Christmas episode, performing “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “What Was I Made For,” the the multiple award-winning ballad from the soundtrack of Barbie.
Having just completed three consecutive shows at nearby Madison Square Garden, she’s in the middle of her North American tour for Hit Me Hard and Soft. Eilish starts up again early next month in Georgia before working westward, wrapping up in Los Angeles in mid-December.
Early next year, she’ll be in Australia, then Europe in the spring.
