Victoria Monet Drops New Song ‘Reach Out’ From ‘Frequency of Love’

Victoria Monét is officially entering a new era. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter has announced her sophomore album, Frequency of Love, which will arrive on Oct. 2 via Lovett Music/RCA Records.                             

She also shared the lead single, “Reach Out,” produced by frequent collaborators Kaytranada and D’Mile. The accompanying Dave Meyers-directed video features choreography by Sean Bankhead. The visual follows the singer as she performs in an all-black ensemble, leading an army of backup dancers on a journey to send a message to a long-term love interest.

“I am so thankful to everyone who was a part of this piece of art!! I couldn’t have done it without every single one of you,” Monét wrote on Instagram, marking the video’s release.

The announcement of Frequency of Love comes as Monét continues to build momentum. Her recent single, “Let Me,” climbed to the Number One spot on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart in June.

Frequency of Love marks Monét’s first full-length studio album since Jaguar II and Jaguar II: Deluxe, the projects that produced hit singles including “On My Mama” and “Smoke.” Jaguar II earned Monét her first Grammy Awards for Best R&B Album, Best New Artist, and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical at the 2024 Grammys.

When Rolling Stone spoke with Monét in 2023, she shared that inspiration is never far away, revealing that she keeps a notebook by her bedside to capture ideas whenever they strike.

“I have this notebook that I keep on the side of my bed that I write in if I wake up and have a dream that I can remember, or just things that I feel, or positive things that I want to tell myself when I’m feeling doubtful,” she said.

Outside of her own music, Monét is currently wrapping up the European and U.K. leg of Bruno Mars’ The Romantic tour as a special guest alongside Anderson .Paak as DJ Pee .Wee. The run concludes at London’s Wembley Stadium on July 24, 25, and 28.
