Princess Catherine delivered a quietly powerful fashion statement at Lambeth Palace this week, stepping out in jewellery widely understood to carry personal meaning as she attended an official engagement alongside Prince William. The Princess of Wales joined the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dame Sarah Mullally, for a meeting at the historic palace, using subtle styling choices to merge diplomacy, modern royal dressing and private sentiment.
For the engagement, Catherine leaned into one of the defining colour trends of the season, choosing rich brown tones – now widely regarded as a softer, more sophisticated alternative to classic black. She wore a bespoke Catherine Walker London coat layered over a newly commissioned Edeline Lee ‘Jete’ cropped-sleeve dress, priced at £1,390.
The royal, 44, finished the look with her Gianvito Rossi ‘Gianvito 105’ chocolate suede pumps and Cartier Trinity earrings in white, yellow and rose gold.

Yet it was Catherine’s necklace that carried the deepest emotional weight. The Princess debuted a new Daniella Draper Gold Keeper’s Heart Trace Chain Necklace, crafted in recycled 9ct yellow gold and priced at £1,555.
The delicate heart pendant, can be engraved in a handwritten style, though the inscription of Caterine’s itself has not been disclosed – is understood to be worn as a love token, believed to honour her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Designed to symbolise “love” and “connection”, the Keeper’s Heart Trace Chain Necklace felt like a considered and intimate addition to Catherine’s look.

The necklace also marks the first public appearance of this particular piece, further expanding Catherine’s long-standing relationship with London-based jewellery brand Daniella Draper.
She has worn the label regularly since 2020 and is believed to own at least eight designs, several of which feature personal engravings.
Among them is another necklace bearing the initials of her children, G, C and L – which she has previously worn during both formal engagements and more relaxed appearances.

Handcrafted in England by the family-run brand, the necklace reflects Draper’s focus on sustainably sourced materials and understated design inspired by nature – values that closely mirror Catherine’s own approach to fashion and public life.
The Princess of Wales has consistently favoured jewellery that carries meaning beyond aesthetics, choosing pieces that quietly tell a story rather than making overt statements.
Through a simple gold heart worn close to her own, the Princess offered a discreet yet touching tribute to the children at the centre of her world, reminding royal watchers that even in the most formal of
