Peter Weber’s Mom Reacts to Bachelor Producer’s Claims

Former Bachelor Peter Weber’s mom, Barbara Weber, is seemingly weighing in after her son was name-dropped in former franchise producer Julie LaPlaca’s tell-all memoir.
“Lift the NDAs,” Barbara wrote via Instagram on Saturday, July 11, alongside a photo of Peter, 34, insinuating that he is bound by a nondisclosure agreement and therefore legally cannot publicly respond to the claims featured in the book. “Let Peter tell HIS story!”
While it’s not known whether Peter actually signed an NDA during his time as a Bachelor Nation fixture, his mom was met with a flurry of support in the comments section.
“What can I do!?” Love Island USA and The Traitors alum Carsten “Bergie” Bergersen replied, to which Barb added, “Thank you Bergie for your support!! Hope all is well!!”
After another social media user asked whether Peter’s contract had expired, Barb alleged, “It needs to be lifted.”
Peter’s sister-in-law, Kristine Weber, chimed in with a trio of “👏👏👏” emojis.
LaPlaca, who previously served as a producer on The Bachelor franchise, published The Love Producer earlier this month. In her debut memoir, LaPlaca, 41, claimed that she secretly dated Weber after he appeared on the show.
LaPlaca later alleged to Us Weekly that Peter didn’t have a favorable reaction to her decision to release the tell-all book.
“I think he reacted from a place of fear, understandably so,” she exclusively told Us Weekly in a July interview. “At the time, I offered to let him read a copy, and instead he panicked, and you know … that’s OK. I just wish him the best, and I hope when he reads it, he sees that it’s coming from the heart.”
According to LaPlaca, she said that she’s not “out to get” the airline pilot by sharing her story.
“I’m just sharing my truth and my story, and he was a big catalyst for me, like, leaving and embarking on my own healing journey, and diving deeper into understanding my patterns with men, you know, why did I always go for Peter Pans, if you will,” she stated to Us. “And so, I’m super grateful for him.”
LaPlaca further revealed that she finally got closure from Peter years after their post-Bachelor tryst via phone conversation.
“I think in many ways I was almost still trying to write that ending, and in my head, I was, like, still almost living in that Bachelor world, and wanting it for myself,” she said. “All it took was one phone call, and it gave me the clarity I needed. I felt really so much freer after that.”
Peter, for his part, has since slammed LaPlaca dredging up their history in The Love Producer.
“I just find it ironic that Julie is coming out with a book all about finding your truth and searching for love, when the entire time I was trying to do just that on my season of The Bachelor, with her as my main confidant and guide throughout the process, her actions said otherwise,” he told TMZ in a Tuesday, July 7, statement. “I am by no means a victim in all of this. I’m a grown man who is responsible for all of my actions, and I know that. That being said, going through an experience like I did involved a certain level of trust being given to people I really didn’t know that much about at the time.”
The Love Producer is available now.
