M&S’ no-rubbing sandals are comfortable to walk in for my hammertoes

Shoppers suffering from hammertoe or toe injuries were left impressed when they tried on a pair of leather sandals from Marks and Spencer.
We know that it can take time to “break new shoes in” by wearing a short period of time at home to avoid getting blisters. But the M&S Collection Wide Fit Leather Strappy Sandals have left customers impressed as five-star customers said “they are extremely comfortable”.
The timeless Fisherman sandal in a strappy “caged” design has proven to be this year’s popular style. Whether you want to wear it with shorts, midi dress or linen trousers, it’s goes well like the popular Jelly Shoes but in a grown-up version. Currently reduced from £49.50 to £37.12, the shoes received a high 4.7 out of five star among 170 customers, including one who has hammertoes.
A woman bought a pair and said: “I read reviews and, being between a 5 and 6, opted for 5 which fit well. They are quite wide and I don’t have wide feet but they are extremely comfortable. I personally think they suit jeans, trousers and shorts more than skirts and dresses but that’s probably an age thing. I like the fact you can see your pedicure but it doesn’t show so much of my horrible long toes.”
Another shared: “Great leather wide fit sandals. I have a hammer toe and have a huge problem with shoes, especially sandals. I was also lucky enough to get 25% off with sparks and another 25%.”
Otheers agreed that the shoes were well-made and sturdy, with a woman adding: “Really comfy sandals. Took them on holiday and they kept my feet cool. No rubbing and comfy from the first wear. Bought a size down as others recommended and they were perfect!”
But some said the leather was “hard”, explaining: “I will take some softening up I think. Also, wide fit as described but could do with a tad longer strap for days when feet may be swollen. I’m keeping mine though as definitely worth the money – I’m wearing with socks around the house first to soften the leather!”
Another said: “Bought for practicality when travelling, length and fit, have proven to be comfortable. But on first day of wearing, with sunny dry weather the dye from the leather transfers to skin, and also later in evening to knee highs.”
The M&S Wide Fit Leather Strappy Sandals are now on 25% off discount at £37.12 and it’s available in both black and tan colour. Alternatively, Heavenly Feet’s memory foam sandals are both comfortable and flattering, the Saffron sandals are similar to the Fisherman sandal style but with open-toes design. They are £49.95 a pair and it comes with different colourways.
You can also get Barbour’s ‘Macy’ Fisherman Sandals from Schuh for £54.99, saving you £30.
