The actor, whose net worth is estimated at $45 million, revealed his charitable habit in a December interview with The i Paper. The story recently gained attention online. Nayyar described it as his “masked vigilante thing,” saying he goes on the fundraising platform at night to anonymously donate to families struggling with healthcare costs. “Money has given me greater freedom and the greatest gift is the ability to give back, to change people’s lives,” he said.
The news article shared its information through a headline which many readers considered to be misleading and poorly constructed. The article suggested that Nayyar used GoFundMe to collect funds for himself instead of making his own contributions. The wording created instant confusion which resulted in readers starting to criticize the content.
“These headline writers are the worst,” wrote one commenter, echoing a common sentiment.
Another user clarified the situation plainly. “He goes onto random GFM and pays the medical bills of strangers with his own money,” they wrote. The clarification received significant support.

Many argued the headline was engineered for outrage. “It’s all part of the plan,” one person noted about clickbait tactics. “Clickbait headlines that get both good and bad people to view ads are simply more effective at making money.”
