James Gunn Teases New Superman Comics for 2025 and Fans Go Wild

Comic book fans were thrown for a loop with the announcement made by Gunn that, in addition to #SupermanDay, DC would also be launching other titles, including a Golden Age Facsimile Edition of Action Comics #1 and a glistening variant cover by Mora. The tweet reverberated throughout the DC fandom, and, naturally, the replies went into an organized cacophony of hype, demand, and plain trolling.

Anyway, good news. In this message, Gunn spoke about the most significant two releases, one being a tribute book for Superman’s Golden Age, and the other a throwback for the Dan Mora book loved by fans. The message on the tweet was somewhat simply stated-here are some comics; get yours at your local store-but, of course, being the internet, it had its opinion.
There was pure excitation in some replies. One very excited user stated: ‘Wow, those Superman comics sound awesome!’ The next one entered different opinions saying, ‘Dan Mora is the GOAT’, showing that Mora is bundled amongst the greats. Just the words ‘Must buy’ were enough to get the would-be impulse buyers exciting over this title.
Then… Oh well!
Now a whole bunch of replies started to demand updates on anything about Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie, from Supergirl’s suit (‘hey man can you post the hd quality supergirl suit lol’) to casting suggestions for others in the DC universe (‘I’ve a perfect cast for The Brave and the Bold… Matthew Lillard as Commissioner Gordon’). I swear on my mom, every single time Gunn tweets, there is someone asking for a comparison of the cinematic universe.
Next came SnyderVerse stans. ‘Made Superman back to PG kiddie shit,’ one reply said bluntly, while another with a pic of Henry Cavill’s Superman read ‘The ONLY Superman’. The divide between Gunn-vision supporters and Snyder loyalists is still very much alive, and they never shy away from rubbing it in.
A stir was certainly called for whenever Gunn tweets. ‘Just a reminder: James Gunn is a pedo POS’ claimed one user, while another asked why he is ignoring promised director’s cuts (‘When can we expect the Ayer cut and Schumacher cut?’), ‘Seriously the drama this tweet has revived from decades ago in actual DC on comics is unbelievable.
There were uplifting moments like one was ‘👀’ while another pleaded for a Monkey Prince movie, saying ‘Life is too short! 💔.’ Twitter never disappoints.

Anyways, Sure, we are getting Superman comics from Gunn, and there are insane responses all over the internet. Love it or hate it; DC fans will never be boring. So who’s heading to the local comic store next week?
