In ‘Prime Target’ Trailer, Leo Woodall Plays Prime Numbers Mastermind

The series arrives Jan. 22 via Apple TV+
In the Prime Target trailer, Leo Woodall plays a Newton-ridiculing, mathlete determined to find a pattern in prime numbers. Cracking the code to prime numbers, figures only divisible by one and itself, means access to any computer across the globe. This also makes him the “prime target” for an unknown threat.
“What if numbers didn’t behave the way we assume,” Woodall says in the trailer, released Monday. “What if we’re not in control?”
Apple TV+ series Prime Target follows a postgraduate math whiz’s (Woodall) attempt to find a pattern in prime numbers and the unseen enemy standing in his path. Black Adam’s Quintessa Swindell stars as an NSA agent tasked with watching and reporting the behavior of mathematicians. In the series, created by Steve Thompson (Sherlock), the two work together to unravel a concerning conspiracy.
The eight-episode series also stars Stephen Rea (The Crying Game), David Morrissey (The Walking Dead), Martha Plimpton (The Regime), Sidse Babett Knudsen (Borgen), Jason Flemyng (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones), Ali Suliman (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), Fra Fee (Rebel Moon), and Joseph Mydell (The Eternal Daughter).
The first two episodes of the conspiracy thriller releases Jan. 22, followed by a new episode each week. Beyond playing a prime numbers mastermind in Prime Target, Woodall also starred in Netflix’s One Day, Max’s The White Lotus, and is set to star opposite of Renée Zellweger in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy heading to Peacock on Valentine’s Day.
