Dua Lipa, Crowded House’s Neil Finn Cover ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’

The concert in Auckland was part of the singer’s ongoing Radical Optimism tour
Dua Lipa welcomed Crowded House frontman Neil Finn to the stage in Auckland, New Zealand, for a lively cover of the band’s 1986 song “Don’t Dream It’s Over.”
The show, at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Friday night, marked the finale of the Australia and New Zealand leg of Lipa’s Radical Optimism tour. For the performance, Finn played guitar and sang alongside the pop singer and her band, who have made a habit of performing covers throughout the tour.
Last month in Sydney, the singer surprised the audience with a cover of Tame Impala‘s “The Less I Know the Better” with an assist from Kevin Parker himself. “I made most of Radical Optimism with this person and he’s one of my favorite artists,” Lipa said while introducing Parker. “He’s inspired me a lot. I manifested and dreamt about working with him one day and then I managed to make one of my favorite albums with him.”
Lipa has also covered songs from local legends including Troye Sivan, INXS, Kylie Minogue, Vance Joy, and AC/DC. Sivan and Joy joined her onstage for performances of “Rush” and “Riptide,” respectively. During another Auckland concert, she covered Lorde’s “Royals” to pay tribute to the New Zealand singer.
Dua Lipa will continue her Radical Optimism tour in Madrid on May 11. The European leg includes stops in Paris, Amsterdam, London, and Dublin. She’ll head to North America in September before going to South America in November.
