CurrentBody launches new LED mask that tackles fine lines and wrinkles

Beauty tech retailer CurrentBody has updraded its popular LED mask for better anti-ageing results. The original product has been dubbed the “Emily in Paris mask” since its debut in the hit Netflix drama.

While CurrentBody has previously used medical grade silicone for ease of use and flexibility, the brand’s new Series 2 LED mask has cutting-edge poured liquid silicone to fit better on face and cover tricky areas that the former model couldn’t reach, including the chin.

The Series 2 LED mask is priced at £399, which is £100 more than the original version but it also comes with more than double the amount of LED bulbs and offers three highly precise LED wavelengths – red (633nm), near-infrared (830nm) and the new deep near-infrared (1072nm).

Each Series 2 LED mask also comes with a Veritace NFC card for skincare lovers to check the gadget’s precision testing and how it delivers results.

As LEDs produce a therapeutic spectrum of light that does not use heat to treat skin, they are completely painless and with no side effects. Currentbody stated the deep near-infrared LEDs “target areas where signs of ageing are more pronounced (under the eyes and around the mouth), penetrating up to 10mm into the hypodermis, stimulating collagen production deep under the skin for visible skin renewal”.

By spending 10 minutes daily, testers claimed to have seen reduction of fine lines around the eyes and fading of sun spots. One said: “It’s a very easy step to include in your daily routine, and after using it for a few weeks my skin has a much more unified tone and seems more glowing.”

Before and after pictures shared on Instagram are showing impressive results as one viewer commented: “Wow that pigment lift. Series 1 delivered great results. I can’t wait for Series 2.”

“The results speak for themselves,” another added, but some weren’t sure if the “chin guard” helped tightened skin didn’t find it travel-friendly due to the new shape.

When I was reviewing the Series 1 LED mask, it left a red mark around my eyes because of the fit and eye goggles – so I’m glad to see CurrentBody has upgraded it with a multi-way strap.

The Series 2 LED mask is available to purchase on CurrentBody website for £399 while the Series 1 LED mask remains at £299.

Alternatively, get a deep near-infrared treatment with the Omnilux Men LED mask, which costs £350, and if you are looking to treat for specific areas, PMD’s two-in-one Redvolution (£209) and BeautyPro’s LED Wand (now £71.25) could be better options.
