Claudia Winkleman is a style icon known for sporting sharp tailoring, statement knits and monochrome outfits, and many fans are keen to emulate her look. The 53-year-old TV star recently partnered with Marks and Spencer to bring out some new styles for the spring season, but many of these pieces are already flying off the shelves.

In a post shared to M&S’ Instagram channel, Claudia can be seen donning the Jaeger Pure Cashmere Crew Neck Relaxed Jumper, £175, in grey. The stylish knit has a relaxed fit for remarkable comfort. It also comes in navy and camel, with sizes for each colourway ranging from small to extra-large. Despite running big in terms of fit, shoppers say it “oozes quality”.

Stylist Sinead McKeefry paired it with the “smart and comfortable” Jaeger Wide Leg Culottes with Wool, £150. Claudia said: “I’m so excited about the spring drop because even though it’s summery, it’s not floral. It’s still stuff that I would love to wear. I love this [Jaeger] jumper for example. I mean, Jaeger is just the classic, isn’t it? Where do I want to go to? Where do I just want a great sweater? I want to go to Jaeger.”

One shopper said: “I am only 5ft tall so I knew these would work for me as an ankle grazing trouser rather than culottes and they are perfect. I will wear them a lot. Adjustment on the waistband is nice touch and indicative of higher quality.”

Another saw herself wearing the culottes with either boots in winter or heeled sandals in summer while praising the hidden adjustable waist. But some said it’s an expensive pair for £150 and “would have been even better if they had been lined”. M&S’ Pleated Palazzo Pants from its new spring collection is at an affordable price tag of £45 but online stock is limited. Alternatively, COS’ Voluminous Culottes, £75, could be a great option to consider.

Other than staple knitwear and stylish culottes, Claudia continued: “Do not give up on the coat just because it’s spring, ever, because we need pockets. Otherwise, where are we going to put our keys and our chewing gum and our white lipsticks? That’s my advice.”

She was seen wearing the £199 Pure Cotton Belted Trench Coat, also by Jaeger. The camel-hued outerwear is made from robust double-cloth fabric and the seams are bound for extra durability. It is updated with a water-repellent finish and cut in an easy regular fit with a revere collar and a traditional double-breasted front. This coat has amassed a high 4.8 star rating from shoppers and is deemed “a staple in wardrobe for many years to come”.

“Beautiful trench coat. nice detailing and reasonably heavy material compared with some on the market. Finished internally with blind seams – no lining which some may not like but this is a very expensive method,” one mentioned and others sayd they “wish it was lined”. A lightweight option can be New Look’s Stone Double Breasted Trench Coat, £54.99.
