Charli XCX Closes ‘Brat’ Tour With Cryptic Message

The star performed the last show of her tour in South Korea on Friday and later appeared to tease an upcoming project titled “The moment”
Charli XCX concluded her headlining tour in support of her colossal record Brat on Friday at One Universe Festival in Gwacheon-si, South Korea. To mark the occasion, the singer left fans with a farewell message, officially ending her blockbuster run.
“Please don’t let it be over,” read a large screen behind the singer as she walked across the stage. Charli shared a photo from the concert on social media alongside a short clip of a film slate appearing to tease the first scene of a project titled “The moment.”
Brat‘s lime-green album cover and euphoric pop tracks dominated social feeds and the cultural landscape in 2024 following the record’s release. From TikTok to Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign to the Grammys (where Charli won three awards including Best Dance Pop Recording and Best Dance/Electronic Album), her lasting impact on the industry was inescapable.
When discussing her potential follow-up, Charli said she doesn’t “really feel the pressure to create another record like Brat” during an interview at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. “When I was making [Brat], even though I really believed in it and totally knew what I wanted to do with it, I had no idea how it would be received,” she said. “So yeah, I don’t really feel the pressure because I feel that you can never really do the same thing twice, and my next record will probably be a flop, which I’m down for to be honest.”
While it seems like her Brat era has reached its hyperpop end (for now), Charli has several on-screen features underway including her work in the upcoming erotic thriller I Want Your Sex alongside Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman; the satire Sacrifice with Chris Evans and Anya Taylor-Joy; and the fantasy film 100 Nights of Hero. Charli also played an outlandish version of herself for Benito Skinner’s hit comedy series Overcompensating, which released in May.
