Bad Bunny Makes HistoryWith Album, Record, Song Grammy Nods

He’s the first Spanish-language artist to land all three major categories at the same time
Bad Bunny is continuing a historic year. On Friday, as the Recording Academy announced its nominations for the 2026 Grammys, Bad Bunny became the first Spanish-language artist to earn nominations for three of the Big Four categories, including Song, Record, and Album of the Year.
Debí Tirar Más Fotos follows in the footsteps of 2022’s Un Verano Sin Ti, which was the first Spanish-language album nominated for Album of the Year in history. In the Album of the Year category in 2026, Bad Bunny is up against Justin Bieber’s Swag, Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend, Clipse’s Let God Sort Em Out, Lady Gaga’s Mayhem, Kendrick Lamar’s GNX, Leon Thomas’ Mutt, and Tyler, the Creator’s Chromakopia.
The album’s title track, “DtMF,” also earned Bad Bunny nominations in both Record of the Year and Song of the Year. With the nods for “DtMF,” Bad Bunny is only the second Spanish-language artist to earn nominations in both Record and Song of the Year in the same year since “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Bieber did so in 2018.
Along with those major categories, Bad Bunny earned nominations for Best Album Cover (a new category), Best Música Urbana Album, and Best Global Performance for “EoO.”
Bad Bunny is a three-time Grammy winner — though all of his wins have come in genre categories. He earned Best Latin Pop or Urban Album in 2021 for YHLQMDLG, followed by back-to-back wins in 2022 and 2023 for El Último Tour del Mundo and Un Verano Sin Ti in the Best Música Urbana category, respectively.
