Princess Kate-approved brand cuts up to 50% off ‘beautiful dresses

The Christmas party season is well underway, and Hobbs is running a sale of up to half price to help shoppers look and feel their best. The luxury high street retailer has a strong celebrity and royal following, with the likes of the Princess of Wales pictured wearing its coats and dresses.
One occasion includes her royal visit to Cornwall back in 2023, where she wore a stunning brown Hobbs coat. The brand is currently running an end-of-year sale. It’s a great time for fashion fans to make savings on frocks and jumpsuits that often cost upwards of £150 or more.
Elsewhere, Very is also hosting a fashion sale, with deals on party pieces. For instance, this grey Shawl Collar Faux Fur Coat is on sale for £42.25, down from £65. The fluffy coat has an exaggerated collar that will elevate any outfit it is paired with.
Elsewhere, Next is selling a classic Christmas fashion staple – a sequin top. The sparkly top is £50 and is offered in silver and navy hues. Returning to Hobbs’ Christmas sale, writer Nisha Mal picks out her favourites for the party season. First up is this midnight navy Anoushka Hot Fix Jumpsuit, now £103.50, was £229. The elegant piece features long sleeves and a gemstone detail throughout.
It has lace inserts on the neckline and the arms. The model pairs it with a navy headband and court shoes. It is offered in petite and regular lengths. The Anoushka Hot Fix Jumpsuit (sizes 6-20, size 12 sold out) has a tie wrap around the waist and a dainty keyhole design at the back.
Another standout piece in the sale is this velvet maxi dress. Velvet is a popular fabric around the festive season, mostly because it’s a thicker, warmer material and also works really well with the jewel tones often associated with Christmas.
The Dormer Velvet Dress (sizes 6-22, size 14 sold out) has been reduced to £107.10, from £149. Offered in a jewel-toned midnight purple hue, the frock features a fit-and-flare shape, a V-shaped neckline, and shirred waist and cuffs.
In the reviews, one buyer said they felt like a Disney princess when they wore it, writing: “Absolutely gorgeous. I felt sexy and glamorous. I love the V-neck, it accentuates without showing too much, and the Empire Line was very forgiving of my other curves, and the fabric swelled and swished around my hips. Perfect party dress, great for the winter festive season. I shall wear it to my Work party tomorrow.”
Another pleased shopper said: “Lovely warm velvet and a beautiful colour.” However, one user noted setbacks on the delivery, remarking: “The dress was fine, delivery had problems and took too long.”
Another person had a better experience, saying: “A really gorgeous dress. Lovely fit and true to size. I would definitely recommend. I am looking forward to wearing it at Christmas.”
For something sparkly, Hobbs also has a sale on this Sawyer Sequin Dress (sizes 6-22), now £134.10 down, from £199. The glittery frock is cut to fit and flatter, featuring a boat neckline and a dipped back for alluring details.
Stylish shoppers can wrap up warm whilst out and about this Christmas in this Hobbs Tarini Faux Fur Coat (sizes extra small to extra large), reduced to £159, was £299. The burgundy coat has a funnel neck, a longline fit and side pockets.
