M&S shoppers praise £27 jeans alternative that ‘feel like wearing joggers’

Marks and Spencer shoppers are going wild for the latest style sensation – a pair of chic denim trousers that offer the sleek look of jeans coupled with the comfort of joggers, making them an absolute essential for the warmer seasons.
Retailing at £27.50, these Denim Drawstring Wide-Leg Trousers have become a cult favourite among customers who can’t stop praising their “casually stylish” appearance, setting themselves apart from regular jeans with a snug elasticated drawstring waistband that elevates their comfort level to must-have status.
Not only do they embody comfort, but the wide-leg, cotton-rich denim trousers also come with two side pockets and an additional pair at the back for practicality. Shoppers can choose from three fashionable hues – poppy red, light beige, and black, with the popular denim-like indigo blue temporarily out of stock.
With more than 200 glowing reviews on the M&S website and stocks depleting swiftly due to high demand, the trousers boast an enviable average customer score of 4.6 out of five stars, according to The Mirror. Thrilled customers have been lauding them as “perfect for holiday”, softer than traditional jeans, and incredibly fashionable, with some planning to snap up every colour available.
A glowing review on the M&S website from one satisfied customer reads: “Comfy and stylish. I absolutely love these jeans. They have a great drawstring waist and super soft denim. They look really stylish and feel like you’re wearing joggers. Even my hubby loves them.”
Another delighted customer raved: “Perfect for holiday. Lovely material, good weight, and perfect length. These are very comfortable to wear and not as stiff as some jeans.” Meanwhile, another pleased purchaser commented: “Super cool jeans. Great shape and perfect fit, ideal for spring and summer.”
However, some buyers have encountered sizing issues, saying the trousers “come up quite big” and recommended to go for a size down. “Great jeans but size is very generous, I bought a size smaller than usual,” one mentioned while a second said: “Good quality fabric which hangs well. Waistband is a bit narrow to what I usually prefer, but comfy nonetheless.”
For those concerned about sizing, there are alternative options available. Next is offering Wide-Leg Pull-on Linen Blend Trousers for £34 which is perfect as holidaywear, while H&M’s Denim Drawstring Trousers are great for city exploring and are available for £22.99.
On the other hand, a thrilled M&S shopper exclaimed: “Great quality and comfortable. After my C-section and postpartum, comfortable jeans were hard to find, and these jeans are a must. They are very relaxing and stylish. I will definitely buy other colours as well.”
Another happy customer shared their enthusiasm: “I was tempted by the price and so pleased with these comfortable additions. I will definitely look to buy them in another colour. I can always rely on Marks and Spencer to fit well and the fact I can choose the longer lengths. They will be super for the summer and an alternative to jeans. Smart casual.”
