Rachel Zegler, Gal Gadot Star in ‘Snow White’ Trailer

The live-action musical adaptation of the 1937 original arrives March 21
In Disney‘s new Snow White trailer, Gal Gadot‘s evil queen, who also plays Snow White’s wicked stepmother, is out for blood. Eager to be the “fairest of them all,” the evil queen calls for the murder of Snow White, played by Rachel Zegler. The film releases March 21.
In the clip, Snow White escapes from Gadot’s villainous grasp, makes a run for the woods, and discovers the cozy abode of the seven dwarfs. While in the forest, she befriends the birds, takes mine cart rides with the seven dwarfs, and receives a poisoned apple from an unexpected visitor.
The new rendition of Snow White is a live-action musical adaptation of the 1937 original. The reimagined film, directed by Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man), also features the original power ballad “Waiting on a Wish” from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the songwriting duo behind The Greatest Showman and La La Land. Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida (The Girl on the Train) wrote the screenplay. Based on the Brothers Grimm tale, the 1937 film follows a princess who is exiled into the forest by her stepmother, and finds solace living with a clan of dwarfs.
Before starring in the Disney princess remake, Zegler rose through the Hollywood ranks as a breakout star in West Side Story, followed by her title role in the Hunger Games prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Zegler made her Broadway debut alongside Kit Connor (Heartstopper) this fall, and will also star in A24’s Y2K, releasing Dec. 6.
