50 Cent, Kid Rock, More Artists React to Trump Rally Gunfire

50 Cent, Kid Rock, and John Rich, of Big & Rich, are among the artists who took to social media to voice their concerns following the shooting at Donald Trump‘s Butler, Pennsylvania rally on Saturday. The presumptive GOP presidential nominee was rushed offstage after gunshots were fired. He is “safe” after the incident, according to the Secret Service.
The suspected shooter fired multiple shots while outside the venue where Trump’s rally took place, per the Service Service. The shooter is dead and one attendee was killed, according to agency spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi. Two additional rally attendees are in critical condition. Following the incident, Trump described having been “shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear.”
Kid Rock — a staunch supporter of Donald Trump, whom he calls “one of my besties” — kept his message following the shooting to the point in an Instagram video. Appearing shirtless while wearing a “White Boy of the Year” baseball cap, he said vehemently: “You fuck with Trump, you fuck with me.”
Meanwhile, 50 Cent shared a social media post with a clip of his song “Many Men (Wish Death)” soundtracking a photo of a defiant-looking Trump being escorted away from the rally by the Secret Service. “I know the vibes,” 50 Cent wrote, “we all in trouble now!” Later, 50 Cent shared a photoshopped version of the cover art from his debut studio album, 2003’s Get Rich or Die Tryin’, that featured Trump’s head atop 50’s body.
John Rich of Big & Rich shared that Trump was shot with his followers shortly after the incident. He also shared video footage from the rally with Trump saying “fight,” which Rich captioned with “BRING. IT. ON.” Later he wrote, “They couldn’t beat him in a fair contest, so they tried to kill him. BUT THEY MISSED.”
