Yellowjackets Confirms Its Ending With ‘Twisted’ Final Season 4

The remaining Yellowjackets may make it out of the woods — or not — when Season Four brings the bloody series to its final end.
Creators Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson announced on Friday that the Paramount+ show would be ending with its upcoming fourth season, although a premiere date has not been revealed. “After three incredible seasons, and great consideration, we’re excited to announce that we will be bringing the story of Yellowjackets to its twisted conclusion in this fourth and final season,” said the showrunners in an Instagram post alongside a fiery teaser clip.
“Telling this emotional, wild, and deeply human story has been a profoundly meaningful experience and a true honor for us,” said the duo, thanking their cast, crew, and writers. “Most of all, we want to thank the fans who have stuck with us through every moment, mystery and meal — the Hive is nothing without you! We can’t wait to share the final chapter with you and hope you find it…delicious.”
Yellowjackets debuted in 2021 on Showtime, which has since been folded into Paramount+, and has garnered 10 Emmy nominations. Season Three wrapped in April and featured Christina Ricci, Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Lauren Ambrose, Simone Kessell, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Sophie Nélisse, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Kevin Alves, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, and Sarah Desjardins. Hilary Swank, Joel McHale, and Ashley Sutton guest starred in the third chapter.
When speaking to writer Alan Sepinwall for Rolling Stone in 2022, following the end of the first season, Lyle said at the time, “We have no interest in dragging this show out past its due time. We do have a multiseason arc; we strongly feel we have multiple seasons of story to tell.” The co-creator added, “But at a certain point, we’re going to realize that the story wants to end. And I hope that the audience is reassured that we don’t intend to beat a dead horse.”
