Justin Bieber made a surprise appearance at West Hollywood nightclub Zouk LA on Wednesday to support friend and recent collaborator Gunna at his official album release party.

The popstar made his way into Zouk around 12:30 a.m., where he joined Gunna at the front of a packed DJ booth that also included Offset and a large entourage for both rappers. Stars like Leon Bridges, Ray J and Jamie Foxx, meantime, held court in VIP booths nearby.

Bieber posted photos and videos from the party on his Instagram feed, including a selfie with Gunna, and a clip of the crowd from his vantage point at the exclusive, invite-only event.

The party helped to celebrate Gunna’s new album, The Last Wun, which hit stores and streaming services on August 8. Sporting Saint Laurent shades and a white Alexander McQueen skull scarf, the rapper took to the mic at Zouk shortly after 1 a.m. to hype up some of the album cuts, before rapping along with the crowd as the DJ played previous hits like “fukumean” and “Drip Too Hard.”

Gunna also appears on Bieber’s surprise album, Swag, with the two trading verses on the song, “Way It Is.” The DJ played the song twice on Wednesday, with both artists taking in the frenzied crowd reaction to their new collab.

Gunna is the latest artist to pop into Zouk LA, which opened in March. The mega club is a partnership between Zouk Group and Sam Nazarian’s sbe nightlife, one of Hollywood’s hospitality pioneers. In addition to Gunna, Don Toliver hit the Zouk LA stage last weekend, while the club’s opening weekend brought out stars like Metro Boomin, Marc Anthony and The Chainsmokers.

While Gunna had a string of tour dates in 2024, he has yet to announce an outing in support of his new album, rumored to be his last for longtime label YSL. The rapper is set to play the Afro Plus Fest in Washington, D.C. on August 31.

Bieber, meantime, isn’t exactly resting on his Swag laurels: the singer just released a black and white video for album track, “First Place.”
