Sainsbury’s Tu shoppers ‘can’t believe compliments’ wearing cardigan

With Christmas just around the corner, shoppers everywhere are finalising outfits for work dos, festive get-togethers, and the big day itself. Tu – the in-house clothing brand of supermarket Sainsbury’s – has a rather snazzy option in the form of this intarsia print co-ord belted cardigan, designed in collaboration with Morris & Co.
Currently, Tu is selling the cardigan for £30.40, down from £38, but there’s a hack that lets shoppers pick it up for even less. When they sign up to TopCashback using this unique link, they’ll receive a £15 welcome reward on their first purchase, slashing the cardigan’s price to £14.13 after cashback.
Existing TopCashback members can also get a discount of their own. For those already using the platform, the belted cardigan co-ord costs £29.13 after cashback.
To create the matching cardigan and trouser set, Tu worked with Morris & Co., a brand with roots to the original design house founded by renowned artist and writer William Morris in 1861. The garments have been adorned with an all-over intarsia print – a decorative knitting technique often used to create complex two-colour patterns – that features botanicals like palm leaves, fern fronds, and peonies.
The cardigan has been cut with a relaxed V-neckline and ribbed trim, with a waist belt for creating a flattering cinched silhouette. As for the co-ordinating trousers, they’re lightly flared at the bottom for a stylish look, and sizes for the set run from XS to XL – although XS is currently out of stock.
Elsewhere, Debenhams is selling this Zafosh floral print casual two-piece shirt and trouser co-ord, which costs £19.99 with a third off the £29.99 usual price. In contrast to the delicate details of the Tu set, this co-ord displays a bold floral print and has been crafted from a soft and breathable polyester/viscose blend.
For the top half only, White Stuff has a pure cotton floral shirt that’s currently 25% off, costing £36.75 down from £49. Its crisp white fabric is stamped with colourful chrysanthemums, while its collared neckline and roll-up sleeves add a classic touch.
Back to the intarsia print co-ord cardigan set, several shoppers have left reviews on the Tu website. One said: “I bought it a week ago. So many compliments when I wore it.”
Another chimed in: “Bought as a gift for a William Morris fan, so I can’t comment on size, but the look is fab. Gorgeous design, substantial cardigan.”
A third added: “I bought this a couple of weeks ago. It is lovely. I really like the sleeves. Already had a few comments, and people can’t believe it came from Tu!”
Tu has also received ratings on Trustpilot, where it’s currently scoring 4.1 out of five from more than 17,000 reviews. One shopper gave the retailer four stars, saying: “Easy to order and pick up, however not being able to exchange items in-store if not suitable isn’t great!”
Another shared their thoughts: “Products good and as ordered. Delivery on time, but why are items delivered with the hangers on? These should be kept and used again instead of adding to landfill.”
