Roman fans snap up lightweight waterproof jacket for summer showers

Unfortunately, the spring and summer seasons in the UK often include a mixture of sunshine and showers. Although most fashion fans would like to pack away their winter jackets, this is not always a good idea due to the unpredictable weather.
Winter outerwear is designed for cold weather, so it can be too thick and heavy for the summer downpours; that’s why opting for a lighter raincoat can be more practical. Roman has plenty on offer, including a hooded option with plenty of pockets.
Roman’s Lightweight Shower Jacket is £55 and comes in blue, red, khaki, and beige. It is available in sizes 10-20 and has a funnel neck design, popper fastenings, and a drawstring waist.
It’s fully lined inside to keep wearers dry on rainy days. Roman recommends pairing it with a classic T-shirt and jeans for a casual yet stylish look.
Similarly, Next sells a camo-print Overhead Rain Jacket for £39. It has a utility design and a relaxed fit, making it ideal for wearing as a lightweight outer layer during spring and summer showers.
Elsewhere, outdoor clothing brand Regatta has a sale on its Hamara IV Waterproof Jacket, which the brand describes as ‘waterproof and breathable’. It’s half price right now, offered for £40, down from £80 and comes in sizes 8-20.
Roman’s Lightweight Shower Jacket has a string of rave reviews. One shopper wrote: “I like this lightweight jacket. It is the right length for me. I ordered size 14, and there is a lot of room to wear a jumper under it in colder weather. I do recommend it. Thinking of ordering the blue colour as well.”
The jacket doesn’t have any negative customer reviews, however its short length is a drawback. The jacket is waist-length, so the lower half of the body is exposed, making it unsuitable for heavy downpours, especially when it’s windy.
Another drawback is that it is not available in petite lengths in any of the colours. So, the sleeves may be too long for shoppers 5ft 3 inches and below.
A second Roman customer wrote: “Comfortable jacket. I found it a little generous, but I could wear a light jumper underneath if needed. The pockets can hold my phone safely. A jacket that is a good length looks very smart.”
A third said: “Very nice lightweight jacket. Perfect fit and lovely colour and style.” A fourth added: “Great looking light weight jacket, perfect for slightly windy sunny days”
A fifth buyer commented: “The perfect lightweight jacket ideal for a holiday. Packs into a very small item, but is very generous in size. I am very pleased.”
A sixth concluded: “Lovely lightweight jacket. Fits true to size and will be great for summer months. I bought the blue colour, which I think is a lovely colour.”
