Oasis Fan Dies After Fall at Band’s Wembley Stadium Concert

“We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night,” Oasis said in a statement Sunday
A man in his 40s died from injuries he sustained from a fall while attending Oasis’ concert Saturday at Wembley Stadium.
The BBC reports that authorities responded to a call at 10:19 p.m. that a man, whose name and age has not been released, “was found with injuries consistent with a fall.” The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have put out a call to fans in attendance who either witnessed the fall or happened to capture the incident on video, the Associated Press reports.
Oasis said in a statement Sunday, “We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night. Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.”
Bristol Live shared unconfirmed social media posts that stated the man was in the “top-tier” of Wembley Stadium when he “slipped on the railing and fell below” to the lower section.
The venue issued its own statement, noting that police and paramedics attended to the fan who fell but “despite their efforts, the fan very sadly died. Our thoughts go out to his family, who have been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers,” the statement said.
The stadium added that Oasis’ concert Sunday, the reunited band’s last of five sold-out shows at Wembley, would continue as scheduled.
