Next’s £29 shacket is ‘perfect’ for autumn weather

Next customers have praised a £29 shacket that’s ideal for transitional weather as “perfect” for the season. But what is a shacket, I hear you ask? It sits somewhere between a shirt and a jacket, thin enough for warmer days but thick enough to keep out the chill.
This corduroy lightweight shacket from Next is super versatile and is available in three colours, including navy blue, neutral and pink. With a rating of 4.3 stars out of five from customer reviews, the clothing item features a shirt collar detailing with button closure and a relaxed fit, reports the Liverpool Echo. It’s currently available in sizes 6 to 24 in navy blue and pink; however, the neutral shade has sold out in some of the sizes already.
In a customer review, one person said: “A lovely subtle pink colour. Looks smart. Very soft material. I sized down as very generous.”
Another purchaser stated: “Very nice shacket, medium weight, so perfect for transitional weather. Washes very nicely and irons very easily. Would definately recommend.”
Nevertheless, not all customers were pleased with the oversized fit. A review said: “It was way too big and didn’t suit. Lovely material, though.” With the oversized cut in mind, it’s worth sizing down if you prefer a more fitted look.
Just like in the photographs on the Next website show, the shacket is very versatile when it comes to styling and would look great with a midi dress and trainers, jeans and a T-shirt, and even loungewear for relaxing around the house.
With the current weather appearing to be unable to make up its mind, a shacket layer is the perfect way to combat the fickle temperatures. Luckily, there are plenty on offer right now. If the Next piece doesn’t take your fancy, Boden has something a bit smarter with their Holly collared knitted jacket that comes in three colours and is currently reduced to just £44.80, down from £140.00.
However, if you’re after something that’s more jacket than shirt, this New Look number ticks all the boxes. Their Button Up Long Sleeve Shacket is priced at £34.99 and comes in three separate colours. One customer praised: “Lovely shacket, good for mid-season weather, gorgeous colour.”
