Kesha Makes Special Appearance on Maya Rudolph Apple TV Series ‘Loot’

In the latest episode of the Apple TV series, the pop star makes a guest appearance as characters Molly and Nicholas trade emotional confessions
Maya Rudolph and Joel Kim Booster take an emotional joyride courtesy of Kesha on this week’s episode of Loot. Premiering Wednesday, Nov. 5, the fifth episode of the show’s third season finds Rudolph’s character Molly hoping to set things straight with Nicholas, who she feels she’s taken for granted.
Since actions speak louder than words, Molly recruits the pop star for a private performance that doubles as an act of gratitude.
“A little birdie told me that you’re my biggest fan in the entire world,” Kesha tells Nicholas, who spits out an overly honest response, “When I saw you sing ‘We R Who We R’ on Australian X Factor in 2010, something inside of me ejaculated.”
In the episode, Kesha begins performing “Joyride,” the lead single from her latest album Period. In place of the record’s operatic pop production, she strips it down for the intimate theater setting she’s performing in. It doesn’t end up mattering, since Molly and Nicholas talk through most of the performance anyway. When Kesha calls them out for being distracting, they make a good point that even she can’t argue with. Who are they distracting in this empty theater?
“We adore you, Kesha, but you’re being very well compensated to help facilitate this emotional moment,” Molly tells her. Fair enough. “Joyride” continues.
Loot returned to Apple TV last month and will continue with episodes premiering weekly through Dec. 10. The series follows Molly as she adjusts to life as a billionaire divorcée. “Molly is such a fun character because she gets to be everything,” Rudolph told Deadline last year. “The initial dive into the idea of playing Molly is you get to play a billionaire, and that just feels like endless fun — the dream of all dreams. If you had all the money in the world, what would you do?”
The answer, apparently, is book Kesha for a single song set just because you can.
