This time, Jamie Lee Curtis and Chad Michael Murray had another ensemble, with a twist: while the guys were working, the girls danced! These two first worked together in the 2003 motion picture titled Freaky Friday, and now they reunite for its sequel, Freakier Friday, which has been scheduled for release on August 8. A little clip was even released by Disney Studios, where the two stars were clowning about, chanting “Freaky” in unison, with Curtis jokingly saying, “I’m freaky over you.” This chemistry is just that bad for good time, and fans are already going crazy.

The shorter clip packs the same offbeat energy that has been translated into making the original a cult classic. Curtis is an icon hash in horror and comedy, whereas Murray is a heartthrob from “A Cinderella Story”. It looks like both are having some great times working on their magic again. The caption reads, “FREAKing out over these two ✨,” and honestly? Same.
There have been split reactions to the teaser: excitement, nostalgia, and unexpected drama unfolding. One fan went, “This is one of the reasons why I love this duo. I love how Chad and Jamie both are comfortable working together.” A second joined in with, “You gotta sing ‘Baby one more time’ agaiiinnnn,” harking back to the early 2000s crush on Murray. Then came the sheer candor: ‘These 2 are unmatched 😂,’ and honestly, I agree.
A few owls put some brakes on the fun. Another spoke of Curtis’ controversial political views, commenting, “Not the genocide support Jamie😒.” Another one unleashed a few unverified claims about her personal life. Yikes! The internet stays messy even when we’re trying to enjoy a light-hearted movie promo.
Through all this chatter remains one common thread of pure anticipation for the movie. “Is it freaky Friday yet??? ❤️🔥,” one asked, apparently unable to wait until August. Another said after a recent first-film binge: “I watched the first one the other day and I couldn’t believe how creepy he was 😂 hope he has some justice and explanation in the second one.” Fair enough—Murray’s character did some pretty questionable stuff.
The tease also gave way to some good old pop culture crossovers with one dubbing them as “Austin Ames and Laurie Strode,” a hybrid of Murray’s persona in A Cinderella Story and Curtis’ infamous character in Halloween. Then, there is thirst, because of course: “We are all freaky over him 🙈🙈🥵🥵.” No shame: Actually, thank you for embracing these fruits of thirst.
“Freakier Friday” should be bringing some serious mayhem with the body swap but this time with a bigger twist, and judging from this little clip, Curtis and Murray are still going strong. But, whether it is nostalgia for the chemistry or just because these guys are utter nonsenses, August 8 is just a day away.

So here goes the internet doing what it does best-some overanalyzing here, lusting there, stirring the drama while at it. But in the end, we’re all just freaky for this duo. And that’s pretty much the vibe.
