Samsung’s latest Galaxy Buds 3 FE, the more affordable alternative to their flagship Pro buds, were released last month, but there’s already a way to save on them. For a limited time, you can buy them bundled with the SmartTag 2 for the same price as buying the earbuds alone. It’s a solid deal, particularly for Android users who are all in on Samsung’s ecosystem.
The Galaxy Buds 3 FE feature the same stemmed design as the Buds 3 Pro, although there are a few trade-offs at this price point. You don’t get the fun (though gimmicky) light-up stems, and the FE earbuds feature a single driver, rather than the Buds 3 Pro dual driver system.
The FE earbuds feature the same controls as the flagship Pro 3 earbuds. The stems (or blades, as Samsung calls them) feature pinch controls for playback and touch controls for the volume, similar to AirPods. Speaking of AirPods, these also feature a live translation feature, which was added to the AirPods Pro 3 to much fanfare.
While I haven’t tested the latest Galaxy Buds 3 FE, the Pro model has among the best quality for calls, in addition to excellent audio performance. As for battery life, these offer up to 8.5 hours with ANC off, and up to 30 hours with the case, an improvement on the Buds 3 Pro.
As for the SmartTag, it’s Samsung’s answer to the AirTag, leveraging Samsung’s large network to find items near or far. And, unlike AirTags, the SmartTag’s built-in loop makes it easy to attach to a keychain without extra accessories.
If you’re looking for flagship features — including active noise-canceling, live translation, and clear call quality, for less, the Galaxy Buds 3 FE are a solid option, particularly with Samsung’s promo.
