Fans React to Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller and Callum Turner in Eternity Trailer

Fans are already planning on buying tickets to see Miles Teller and Callum Turner battle it out over Elizabeth Olsen in the postmortem rom-com Eternity, a wildly different take on the beloved genre from A24.
A trailer for the film was released on Tuesday, July 29, and many were quick to react to the unique plot involving Joan (Olsen) as she ends up in the afterlife after her death with two men she was previously married to: Luke (Turner) and Larry (Teller).
Joan’s first husband, Luke, who “died in the war,” greets her in the afterlife and says he has been waiting for her for decades. Joan very clearly has conflicting opinions on who she wants to spend eternity with and has just one week to choose.
“A lot has happened in a week,” Olsen’s character says in the trailer to Teller’s character. “You died. I died. I’ve just been reunited with both of my dead husbands, and I have to pick where to spend eternity.”
Just based on the trailer, it seems like the film will promise a lot of laughs and tender moments as Joan wrestles with her feelings.
“It’s so great to see Elizabeth Olsen taking a break from Marvel to focus on more intimate, small-scale indie projects like His Three Daughters, The Assessment, and now Eternity. She’s truly thriving, she can do no wrong! 🤩,” one person commented underneath the trailer on YouTube.
“This feels like one of those movies that will really tug at your heartstrings if it’s got the right kind of cast, and this movie has a very very good one!” a second person said.
“Elizabeth Olsen? In a beautiful little indie rom-com?? I AM SO SAT,” a third person penned, as a fourth wrote, “Elizabeth Olsen was great in the Disney era. But Elizabeth Olsen is one hundred percent gold in the A24 era!”
Others pointed out how eccentric the plot is compared to more modern rom-coms.
“This movie is eerily reminiscent of the ‘90s romcoms, not necessarily because of the quality, but because of how outlandish the whole concept is,” another comment read. “Alas, I am still seated.”

“I love the plot of this film. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a film discuss the afterlife from this angle,” a second person echoed.
Eternity also stars Da’Vine Joy Randolph, John Early and Olga Merediz and was directed by David Freyne and written by Pat Cunnane. The film is due out in theaters this November.
