Emma Bunton uses ‘brilliant’ £3 hair mask instead of the salon

Emma Bunton, formerly Baby Spice of the Spice Girls, has revealed the results of a beauty product she used on her hair, describing her locks as feeling ‘shiny’ whilst also smelling ‘amazing’.
The 49 year old singer and radio presenter posted a video to her Instagram followers in October 2020, calling a hair mask – the Give Me Cosmetics Argan Oil and Coconut Oil Hair Mask – a ‘saviour’. Shoppers can now purchase the identical product as part of a substantial discounted bundle offer for Black Friday.
The item is from Give Me Cosmetics, who are providing up to 50% off their entire range from November 3 for their Black Friday promotion, featuring ‘two viral bundles’. Amongst the items in The Full Haircare Set (Argan and Coconut Oil), valued at £67.93 and available for £21.99 during the Give Me Black Friday Takeover, is the hair mask, together with a shampoo and conditioner, detangling hair brush, heat defence spray, hair repair cream and hair serum.
The hair mask, which customers can essentially obtain for £3.14 within this bundle, was previously used by Emma, who commented on the Give Me Cosmetics product: “It’s a hair mask, and it’s been a saviour, because it’s been a bit hard, hasn’t it, during lockdown, there’s no salons open, having to look after my own hair, with two kids. But this takes 20 minutes, so I’m going to go and give my hair a little wash now, and I’ll be back in a second.”
She returned with damp hair and applied the mask, describing it as “just brilliant, it’s easy” whilst brushing it evenly through her blonde hair, reports the Mirror. She added: “And that’s it, 20 minutes. It’s made from argan oil and coconut oil, so it smells divine.”
She subsequently demonstrated the results to her Instagram followers, saying: “Voila, it’s done. And look, it’s shiny, and it feels amazing. So, so good. So it’s a hair mask. It’s Give Me Cosmetics, and I’m ready for anything now.”
The brand states that Argan Oil smooths and softens hair, whilst Coconut Oil provides strength and lustre. The hair mask is suitable for dry or colour-treated hair and recommended for weekly use. Application involves three stages: shampooing and conditioning (a double shampoo is advised), applying the mask for 10-15 minutes, then rinsing and styling.
Furthermore, amongst the Give Me Cosmetics discounts, the popular Black Friday Bundle has “become the hero deal of the season”, according to the brand. It contains nine full-sized products valued at £81.91, including a guaranteed shampoo, conditioner and lip oil.
The brand notes that the bundle varies weekly, allowing customers to receive different combinations each time for £21.99, equating to approximately £2.44 per item and delivering savings of nearly £60. Another option is the Christmas Mystery Box which contains eight full-sized products worth over £66, including a guaranteed shampoo, conditioner and lip oil plus five extra mystery favourites, all for £23.99.
In addition, the complete haircare sets have been slashed to £19.99, down from £34.99. These sets are available in Coconut and Argan Oil, Coconut and Aloe Vera (which the brand claims is sulphate and silicone free) and Mango and Passionfruit. Each set includes shampoo and conditioner, a hair mask, an exfoliating hair brush, heat defence spray and hair serum.
The Mango and Passionfruit shampoo and conditioner set is paraben-free, and both are enriched with nutrients like provitamins B5, which the brand claims can help increase hair strand elasticity. The heat defence spray can protect heat-styled hair from temperatures up to 230°, they say.
According to Give Me Cosmetics, their price deals offer customers “premium quality products” that won’t “punish your purse”. They claim this Black Friday event is their ‘biggest event yet’. They also highlight that the bundles are limited editions and once they’re gone, they’re gone.
For those who prefer something fruity, the Umberto Giannini Banana and Coconut Dream Gift Set is available for £15 from Boots. This detangler also repairs and restores shine, according to the brand, and shoppers will also receive a detangling brush.
On LookFantastic, the Christophe Robin Dreamy Volume Ritual set is priced at £44. This three-step regime aims to give those with fine hair a bit of volume and lift. The set includes a Cleansing Volumising Paste, a Delicate Volumising Conditioner and an Instant Volumising Leave-In Mist, all with a rose scent.
Customers have left numerous reviews online, with one shopper praising their argan and coconut hair bundle: “Fabulous products and they smell divine. I bought this as a gift for my niece and she just loves them. I got a different set for my other niece and she loves them too. Gorgeous.”
One customer claimed it has been transformative, stating: “Best shampoo I have ever used. One year of using this shampoo and my hair is everything. I have a combination of brown and blonde hair with greasy scalp but flaky and no more. My hair is clean for a week. Scalp scrub, two shampoo rinses and conditioner once and week and the finish blow dry makes my hair sleek and smooth and everyone compliments it asking who’s done your hair. I love it. Hair goals.”
A third customer commented: “My hair is damaged/dry/fine this product makes it feel wonderful and smells gorgeous. Love it.”
One customer gave their thoughts on the Mango and Passion Fruit Full Haircare Set, stating: “Read lots of reviews about this shampoo and as a result, was eager to try it in an attempt to tackle my fine, lack lustre hair (courtesy of the menopause). Bought alongside the matching conditioner. It smells amazing and feels lovely on my hair but, despite making my hair feel soft, it hasn’t really tackled the issue of my fine, thinning hair. That said, maybe I haven’t been using it long enough yet.” Another person simply commented: “Smells lush.”
