Elton John, Brandi Carlile London Concert Will Be Filmed for CBS

Special will also feature interviews with both artists and “those closest” to the pair of musicians
Elton John and Brandi Carlile‘s upcoming concert in London will be filmed for television. On Tuesday, CBS announced An Evening With Elton John and Brandi Carlile, a concert special set to air on the network and Paramount+ on April 6.
The special celebrating the musicians’ collaborative album, Who Believes in Angels?, will also feature interviews with both artists about their friendship and working together on the LP, out April 4. CBS also shared that “those closest to Elton and Brandi will pay emotional tributes to the artists’ illustrious careers” and the special will feature “captivating stories about the pair’s enduring friendship.”
The musicians are set to perform at London’s Palladium Theatre on March 26, where they’ll play some of their individual greatest hits, and Carlile will also debut an unreleased track. The special will be produced by Fulwell Entertainment with Ben Winston, Gabe Turner, and Sally Wood serving as executive producers.
Carlile and John led Who Believes in Angels? with the title track and “Swing for the Fences” The project also features “Never Too Late,” which was nominated for an Oscar this year. On Who Believes in Angels?, the duo is backed by an all-star band that includes Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Pino Pallodino (Nine Inch Nails), and Josh Klinghoffer (Pearl Jam, Beck). Bernie Taupin and Andrew Watt wrote and produced the set.
“I’m still reeling from the fact that I got to do it,” Carlile previously said in a press release. “I think all ships rise with Elton John’s standards for songwriting, and it was an incredibly challenging and inspiring environment to work in, everybody throwing in ideas, everybody listening to everybody else’s ideas. It felt like a family.”
