”A Convicted Felon Rapist Bigot Was Chosen’

Madonna is the latest high profile artist to share her disapproval after Donald Trump defeated Kamala Harris in the presidential election, taking to social media as she expressed her anger and confusion over the results.
“Trying to get my head around why a convicted felon, rapist, bigot was chosen to lead our country because he’s good for the economy?,” Madonna shared in an Instagram story on Thursday. She also posted a picture of a cake that read “Fuck Trump,” adding: “Stuffed my face with this cake last night!”
Many other artists shared their disappointment over the past two days. Billie Eilish said on social media that electing Trump represents “a war on women,” further telling a crowd during a concert last night that “someone who hates women so, so deeply is about to be the president of the United States of America.”
Sabrina Carpenter, who helped register thousands of voters through activations at her Short n’ Sweet tour, also tried comforting fans during her concert in Seattle Wednesday night. “Sorry about our country and to the women in here,” she said. “I love you so, so, so, so, so much, and I really hope for the rest of this night that you can enjoy yourselves because you absolutely deserve it.”
Jack White, who sued Trump in September over his unauthorized use of “Seven Nation Army” shared a scathing note about Trump’s victory, noting fears over Project 2025, limiting LGBT rights, and furthering climate change, among other concerns.
“It’s absolutely dumbfounding that this con man succeeded in pulling the wool over so many Americans eyes not once, but twice,” he said.
Harris gave her concession speech on Wednesday at Howard University, telling the crowd that “sometimes the fight takes a while. That doesn’t mean we won’t win.” The vice president urged: “The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, not what we fought for, not what we voted for, but hear me when I say: The light of America’s promise will always burn bright.”
