Post Malone to Perform at the World Cup Closing Ceremony

Post Malone will join a star-studded lineup of artists and celebrities to close out the final game of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which takes place at New York New Jersey Stadium on July 19.
He is set to headline the closing ceremony, which begins 90 minutes before the kickoff of the tournament’s final match. Malone’s genre-spanning music makes him a fitting choice for the global celebration of multiple cultures.
“At a time when sport, culture, and global attention converge, Post Malone will deliver a performance designed to celebrate the tournament’s journey and ignite the atmosphere before the world’s attention turns to the two finalists,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said in a statement.
Malone joins a growing list of artists and celebrities participating in the closing ceremony, including Tom Cruise, Jennifer Hudson, Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger, IShowSpeed, and Robbie Williams. The festivities don’t stop there. As previously reported, Justin Bieber will headline the first-ever FIFA World Cup halftime show alongside Madonna, Shakira, and BTS, adding even more star power to an already stacked lineup.
“The FIFA World Cup brings the world together in a way nothing else can. I’m grateful to be part of this halftime show, and even more grateful knowing it’s already helping expand access to education for children around the world,” Bieber previously said of his upcoming appearance in a statement.
Earlier in the tournament, Shakira and Burna Boy kicked off the World Cup in Mexico City with a performance of “Dai Dai.” Artists Future, Tyla, and Katy Perry performed during the World Cup opener in the U.S. at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, while Canada’s opening ceremony featured Michael Buble, Alessia Cara, and Eliana. Most recently, Ellie Goulding took the stage at the Quarterfinals to perform “Lights,” where her home country of England defeated Norway.
With the closing ceremony headliner just announced, all that remains is to determine which teams will compete for the championship. Spain has already secured its place in the final, while England and Argentina are still battling for the remaining spot, with Argentina set to compete in the semifinal on July 15.
