Taylor Swift’s Tour Dancer Gets Hate Over Dress at Wedding

Eras Tour dancer Tori Evans is receiving backlash over her dress choice for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s star-studded wedding. Thankfully, her husband has her back.

Evans, 33, sparked an intense internet debate on Saturday, July 4, after posting a video featuring the dancer getting ready for Swift, 36, and Kelce’s nuptials (alongside husband TJ Shaw) the night before at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

“So it’s going to be forever…🥂🍾,” she captioned the video, which featured Evans playfully tripping in her hotel robe and slippers and standing up next in a full ballgown as her husband transformed from his boxer shorts into a full suit.

The magical reveal, set to Swift’s “Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version),” was quickly overshadowed by the negative comments after many critics claimed Evans was wearing a white gown — a color traditionally reserved for the bride.

“Wayyyyy too close to white for a wedding yikes,” one user replied in the comments section, referring to Evans’ strapless cinderella-style ballgown with matching neck drape.

Another person wrote back, “You wore WHITE????” while a third user asked, “Who wears white to a wedding 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄.”

A separate user commented, “White to a wedding? Tasteless.”

While the dress did appear to be white-adjacent in color based on the shimmer fabric and the lighting, Evans’ husband stepped up to defend his spouse and explain her fashion choice.

“DRESS IS PINK CHAMPAGNE color for everyone that doesn’t understand lighting 😂,” he replied in the comments section.

A fan was quick to applaud Shaw for standing by his spouse, writing back, “@tj_shaw THATS YOUR MAN TAKE HIS HAND @teetime23.”

The user added, “Even if it was white, not a single one of us saw an invite, maybe white was allowed- we have no idea! She looks fabulous in pink champagne!!!!”

Evans — a former dancer for Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour from April 2023 to December 2024 — topped off her pink champagne dress with a matching clutch and vibrant yellow heels. Shaw, for his part, wore a sleek tuxedo suit, black shoes and a black bowtie.

In the video, Shaw kissed Evans’ shoulder as they posed for the camera before heading to MSG to celebrate the happy couple. (Kelce, 36, and Swift tied the knot on Friday, July 3, with about 1,000 friends, family, celebrities and professional athletes on the guest list.)

While there was an onslaught of negative comments, Evans and Shaw also received some love from fans after they posted the sweet video.

“AN ABSOLUTE SLAYYYYY,” one fan replied, while a second wrote in the comments section, “Love your dress you look unreal.”

A separate user called their looks, “Stunningggg,” and a fourth person added, “Cuuutiiiiies! 🔥🔥🔥” to the slew of messages.
