Walkers praise ‘light’ Skechers designed for ‘trail hiking comfort’

Shoppers are praising some Skechers shoes that they say are ‘very light’ and ‘extremely comfortable’. What’s more, they are currently discounted on Amazon, saving shoppers 33% on their purchase.

The Skechers Men’s Escape PlanOxford trainers are currently available for £55.24, down from £82, in the colour ‘Navy Leather Mesh Orange Trim’. They come in various other colours, for different prices, along with sizes UK 5.5 to 13.

They have a smooth durable action leather, synthetic and mesh upper, and a lace-up fastening. They are described as having an ‘athletic trail hiking comfort sneaker design’.

The trainers also have a flexible, high traction, all-terrain rubber outsole and a Skechers Air-Cooled Memory Foam cushioned insole for added comfort. Plus, for easy care, they are machine washable.

As an alternative, there are the Autograph Sports Mesh Trainers from M&S for £65. These come in two colours, sizes six to 12, and they feature padding around the ankle, along with sports-grade cushioning for ‘effective foot support’.

Or at Next, there are the Black Knitted Trainers for £35. These also come in the colour cream, along with sizes 6.5 to 12 – although some are currently out of stock. They feature a soft fly knit upper and all over stretch, and they have Ortholite foam insoles ‘for all day comfort and breathability’, the site says.

Shoppers have left an overall average rating of 4.5 out of five from more than 12,700 reviews for the Skechers Men’s Escape PlanOxford trainers on Amazon. One said: “Very light. I like them a lot.”

A second said: “These Skechers walking shoes are extremely comfortable, straight out of the box. They seem well made and have a non-slip sole. Very reasonably priced and as good as more expensive makes on the market. Very lightweight and water resistant.”

A third simply added: “Comfy shoes, great value.”

Others left some feedback, with one writing: “Once you’ve worn Skechers, it’s hard to switch to other brands because they’re just so darn comfortable. As a personal preference, I’ve swapped the laces that come with the trainers for some elastic laces instead – this makes them much easier to slip on and off.”

Someone else said: “I bought these 18 months ago and (they) were the most comfortable trainers I have ever bought. However, after six months, the tread on the soles have gone and the heel developed a sharp edge that was uncomfortable.”
