Zac Brown, Joe Walsh Will Join ‘The Voice’ Season 28 as Mega Mentors

The Eagles and Zach Brown Band stars will be helping out contestants starting in the Knockouts phase
The Voice is continuing its tradition of bringing on some high-level mentors for its contestants. On Monday, the NBC show announced Joe Walsh and Zac Brown as mega mentors for Season 28.
Brown, who fronts the Zac Brown Band, will mentor the contestants on teams coached by Michael Bublé and Snoop Dogg. Meanwhile, the Eagles’ Walsh will assist Niall Horan and Reba McEntire’s contestants, joining the show to help prepare them for the Knockouts phase, which kicks off Oct. 27. Both new mega mentors have connections to the Sphere in Las Vegas: the Eagles headlined the venue last year, and Zach Brown Band is set to become the first country group to play there, starting in December.
Each coach will enter the Knockouts phase of the show with eight artists, and no saves or steals. Coaches will have to choose the winner from their team to advance to the Playoffs, before the Live Shows.
The Voice is also set to introduce a feature called the “Mic Drop” button, which will be used when a coach is particularly impressed by an artist on their team. Viewers will then be able to vote for the “Mic Drop” winner, who will then get to perform at the Rose Parade on Jan. 1, 2026.
Last year, LeAnn Rimes and Sheryl Crow served as mega mentors during the season. Artists such as Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, Sting, Wynonna Judd, and Keith Urban have all served as mega mentors in the past.
The Voice airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET and PT on NBC. It streams the following day on Peacock.
