Tyla, Sean Paul Get Ready for Summer With ‘Push 2 Start’ Video: WATCH

Tyla co-directed the Y2K-esque video with Taylor Fauntleroy
Warning: Tyla and Sean Paul‘s new video for “Push 2 Start” might push you to book a summer vacation in the Caribbean! On Monday, the South African star released the sexy, throwback video for the Paul remix of “Push 2 Start” — and it’s the first time she is credited as a director of her own video.
The video sees Tyla dancing to the song’s lyrics in front of a backdrop reminiscent of Paul’s video with Sasha for 2002 classic “I’m Still in Love With You,” which the remix samples.
“Mm, pushin’ on my buttons with no hesitation (‘tation)/Gas me up, give me motivation (motivation),” sings Tyla on the track surrounded by a handful of dancers. “So tell me where we goin’, pick a destination (‘nation)/Gas me up, give me motivation, oh (motivation).”
Tyla also dons Y2K-esque outfits in the visual’s different scenes. “I GOT MY FIRST SET OF CREDITTTTTS ON DIS ONEEEEEE,” Tyla said of the video, which she co-directed with Taylor Fauntleroy.
Tyla and Paul dropped the remix of the song on Valentine’s Day, revisiting Tyla’s self-titled debut album which dropped last year. Rolling Stone ranked “Jump” from the album as the Number Three Best Afrpop Song of 2024. She also joined Lisa on “When I’m With You” on the Blackpink member’s debut solo album.
For his part, Paul recently joined INNA on “Let It Talk to Me,” and dropped his own single “Nah Follow Dem” last month. His last album came in 2022 with Scorcha.
