Beyoncé Introduces ‘Superstars’ Team USA in Paris Olympics Video

The promotional video was soundtracked by the icon’s single, “Ya Ya,” from Cowboy Carter
Draped in red, white, and blue, Beyoncé gave a glorious welcome to the athletes competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics. “Get a look at America, y’all,” said the icon in the promotional video, which featured “Ya Ya” from Cowboy Carter. “These hopes and dreams, these superstars that represent us.”
The video, which aired following the opening ceremony, introduced the bold competitors representing Team U.S.A this year including Caeleb Dressel, Sha’Carri Richardson, Noah Lyles, Katie Ledecky, and of course, four-time Olympic gold medal winner, gymnast Simone Biles.
“We’ve got superstars and we’ve got legends. We’ve got big dreamers who fought their whole lives to get here. Who gave up everything for one shot, and made it,” declared Beyoncé as footage of the athletes graced the screen. “That pride and that joy? That’s what gets me about this team. And that’s what makes me believe in this team. And that’s why I can’t wait to see what they pull off over these next 16 days. America, give it up for Team U.S.A., the very best of who we are. What a vision to behold. What a team to believe in. What a night to celebrate.”
Earlier on Friday, the opening ceremony kicked off the games with a wild and spectacular show of creativity, talent, and innovation. From Lady Gaga’s glamorous tribute to French cabaret icon Zizi Jeanmaire on the River Seine, and Céline Dion’s grand comeback, to headless Marie Antoinettes backing a rock opera performance of Les Misérables by heavy metal band Gojira, the ceremony ushered in the historic moment.
