3 Great Free Movies to Watch This Weekend (March 28-30)

Many of the most popular streaming services like Netflix and Disney+ have raised their prices in the last few years. With so many streamers offering exclusive content that you can only watch in one place, it’s amazing how quickly the bills pile up.
But do you know how many streaming sites will allow you to watch movies without any fees?
What to Watch has gathered some recommendations for free movies you can watch without putting down any credit card info.
‘Moonstruck’ (1987) – Amazon Prime
The movie that won Cher her Oscar is available to watch with ads on Amazon. In this sweet romantic comedy, Cher plays Loretta, a superstitious Italian American woman who doesn’t believe in true love. After getting engaged to the practical and decidedly un-romantic Johnny Cammareri (Danny Aiello), she finds herself falling in love with his hot-headed brother Ronny (Nicolas Cage).
This award-winning film would be worth checking out at any cost, but a free viewing makes it irresistible. Directed by Norman Jewison (In the Heat of the Night, Fiddler on the Roof) and written by John Patrick Shanley (Doubt), Moonstruck is guaranteed to make you laugh, cry and believe in love.
Stream Moonstruck on Amazon Prime.
‘Obvious Child’ (2014) – Pluto TV
You might recognize Jenny Slate from Saturday Night Live or Parks and Recreation, where she often played larger-than-life characters. But in Obvious Child, she takes on a much more grounded but still hilarious role as Donna, a stand-up comedian who gets pregnant after a one-night stand with Max (Jake Lacy) and decides to have an abortion. But when Max keeps popping into her life, she can’t figure out how to tell him the truth.
If you watched Lacy play a total jerk on The White Lotus Season 1, you’ll be amazed at how incredibly sweet and charming the actor can be. This indie rom-com handles heavy topics with a deft hand and still earns plenty of genuine laughs along the way.
Stream Obvious Child on Pluto TV.
‘Wonder’ (2017) – Tubi
Looking for a free flick to watch with the kids? Wonder is a great option. This film stars Jacob Tremblay (Room) as Auggie, a boy with Treacher Collins Syndrome who begins going to school for the first time. Because he looks different from other children, he at first experiences bullying before being accepted by his peers around him.
The performances from Owen Wilson and Julia Roberts as Auggie’s parents are warm and engaging, and the film’s message about kindness will resonate with viewers of all ages.
