In theory, Chloe Taylor (Jessica Biel) is supposed to be the title character of The Better Sister. Chloe is a successful editor, and she’s got a good family, while her sister, Nicky (Elizabeth Banks), is considered an unreliable alcoholic who is on the outs with her relatives.

Things change pretty quickly when Chloe’s husband, Adam Macintosh (Corey Stoll), is murdered, and the cops believe that his son, Ethan (Maxwell Acee Donovan), is responsible.
